Passchendaele - the new movie directed and written by Paul Gross (Men with Brooms, 2002) - opens across Canada this weekend, October 17th. And now, on our YouTube channel, you can check the reel weather vignettes about this great movie, courtesy of The Weather Network. So, click here and watch the playlist, and, of course, don't forget: go watch Passchendaele this weekend.

"Passchendaele hearkens back to war films of decades past, when patriotism, valour and integrity were presented without irony. But it is infused with the stoicism of people who know it is their job to try to find meaning within an insane situation." -Peter Howell, Toronto Star

I just wanted to talk to you about this great project that's called Reel Weather, from The Weather Network. We have some of their vignettes available on our YouTube Channel, check them out here on this playlist . The first movie featured is "This Beautiful City".

So, The Reel Weathers are mainly about Canadian Filmmakers talking about shooting on location in Canada or abroad - how the weather affected their shoot. It could be any cast or crew member with an anecdote. Occasionally they interview a filmmaker from another country talking about their encounters with our weather while shooting in Canada.

Next week, we'll have the vignettes about Amal, as a preview to the opening of this great movie, on August 8th.

I've just got an e-mail from Anita telling me about this great initiative called the Impromptu Film Festivals and I had to share it with you all. This festival - that has submissions from around the world - aims to promote filmmakers with future projects in development, showcasing what they've created in the past. It's a one day event held in Vancouver and it's a great opportunity for everybody to watch great movies.
