Hubert is a cool and composed gay young man confused and obsessed by his love/hate relationship with his mother.  He drifts through the mysteries of adolescence - artistic discoveries, illicit experiences, the opening-up to friendship, and ostracism. The turbulent mother and son relationship unfolds with a combination of savage fury and melting affection. Dolan writes, directs and stars in this semi-autobiographical tale.
