Congratulations to UBCP ACTRA Awards Winners 2019

On November 23rd, UBCP ACTRA honoured members of its community within five outstanding categories and presented two lifetime-achievement awards at its 8th annual awards show.
Totalling over 30 nominees, the following names were announced as the winners of each respective category! Congratulations to all nominees and award winners!

Best Actor – Ben Cotton for his role in Crown and Anchor

Best Actress – Camille Sullivan for her role in Kingsway

Best Emerging Performer – Steven Roberts for his role in In God I Trust

Best Voice – Erin Mathews for her performance in Super Monsters Furever Friends

Best Stunt – Stunt coordinator Eli Zagoudakis and stunt performers Nathaniel Shuker and Marshall Bingham for their performances in Arrow

The Lorena Gale Woman of Distinction Award was presented to Lesley Ewen.

The John Juliani Award of Excellence was presented to Mel Tuck.

The Awards gala was hosted by Scrubs and The Flash actor Tom Cavanagh, along with the live show produced by Jay Ono. This year’s red carpet was hosted by entertainment guru Sabrina Furminger.

“What an abundance of accomplished performers we are blessed with within our membership. The UBCP/ACTRA Awards is our opportunity to celebrate this talent, and to honour but a few, said Keith Martin Gordey, UBCP/ACTRA President and ACTRA Vice President. “Our diverse, local, world-class members are a significant contributing factor to BC maintaining its place as the third largest recorded media production centre in North America.”

This year’s award ceremony saw the attendance of many industry members including Lorne Cardinal, Jordan Connor, Jacky and Joyce Robbins, Gabrielle Rose, Olivia Cheng, Jodelle Ferland, Jarod Joseph, Hiro Kanagawa, and Stars to Watch Andrew Dunbar and Andrea Stefanickova.
